Car journey
To ensure a smooth trip, you’ll need a few basic and necessary caravan and car-related items. Firstly, you’ll need a towing aid. Make sure you find one that is suitable for your car and caravan, and that it’s fitted correctly. Other essential caravanning items include a fire extinguisher, tool kit, caravan jack, towing mirrors, extra coolant and oil, a spare fan belt, spare bulbs, and insulation tape.
Health and safety
If you’re travelling on the long road, you need to be prepared for any emergencies. The essentials you might want to pack are plasters, a first aid kit, disinfectant, painkillers, insect bite repellent, and antiseptic cream in case of bites. To protect yourself from the Spanish sun, don’t forget to bring sun cream (preferably one with a high SPF factor of 40 – 50) and after-sun lotion.
Bedroom and bathroom
You won’t have the same conveniences in the great outdoors as you would at home, so make sure to pack all the bedroom and bathroom basics. You’ll most likely need sheets, blankets, and pillows and pillowcases. If you’re camping, be sure to bring sleeping bags, an airbed, and an airbed pump. You’ll also have to pack in towels, a loofah, toiletries (including liquid soap), caravan toilet chemicals, and toilet paper.
Kitchen
The great thing about staying in a caravan is that you can cook your own food. Since not all caravans have kitchens, it may be a good idea to bring a portable grill along. Not only is it super convenient, but everything just tastes better on a grill. We also suggest bringing along pots and pans, this will vastly expand the range of dishes you can cook. Tea cloths, washing up liquid, sponges, foil, a gas kettle, gas cylinder, rubbish bags, cooking utensils, and crockery and cutlery are also essential items that shouldn’t be left behind. A fold up table will also come in handy for food preparation (and it doesn’t take up too much space).
Clothing
The Spanish sun can be pretty hot depending on when and where you go. We recommend wearing breathable natural fibres such as silk, linen, and cotton. Since you’re going to be spending a lot of time outdoors, bring a wide brimmed hat to avoid facial sunburn. Other items you’ll need include a UV parasol, sunglasses, walking boots, swimwear, a warm jacket, and flip-flops.

In order to fully appreciate caravan holidays in Spain, you need to be kitted out with all the odds and ends that will make your getaway extra special.
