1. Motorhome bike rack
If you’re going to be in the great outdoors, the best way to get around is with a bicycle. Depending on where you’re going, there should be cycling routes or mountain trails that you can explore and enjoy. So if you do plan on cycling, make sure to add a bike rack to your list of motorhome accessories. Ensure you keep your bikes safe when you’re away from the motorhome with security locks.

2. Awnings
If your motorhome doesn’t already have one, it would be wise to invest in an awning. The smaller the motorhome, the more useful an awning can be. It gives you extra space and instant shade, and can be used for sitting outside or storing bicycles, or as an extra room. It’s a great addition if more people are coming along on your trip, this way you don’t have to shoehorn everyone inside the main van. The two most popular designs are drive-away and canopy.

Since you have shade thanks to your awning, it would be nice to set up some tables and chairs and enjoy the fresh air. This is also great for sitting outside on warm evenings while gazing at the starry sky. Having fold-up tables with you means that you can quickly set up an extra cooking and eating area. The key is to get something that weighs as little as possible and that doesn’t take up too much room.

4. Battery lanterns
You can’t rely on moonlight and starry skies alone. Battery operated lanterns are a useful motorhome accessory for evenings spent outdoors, or if you want to read at night and not have the main lights on. They’re also good to have as an emergency back-up if you break down at night and need to see what’s happening under the bonnet. A solar lantern is another great option, just don’t forget to leave it out in the sun to charge.

5. Wi-Fi booster or mobile internet
Many campsites offer free internet, but if you’re parked at the other end of the campsite, you might not be able to get any signal. There are few things more annoying than slow internet. A Wi-Fi booster will increase the range at which you can pick up a signal and allow your devices to connect to it.

6. Barbeque
Most motorhomes have fully-equipped kitchens, but you won’t feel like you’re camping if you’re not cooking outdoors. If the weather is good, you’ll want to cook outside as much as possible. If you don’t have much space, there are mini barbecues available that are cheap and can be set up quickly.

7. Satellite dish and TV
If you’re planning to go on a long-stay trip, a satellite dish and TV will be a great source of entertainment for when you just want to relax. Some motorhomes come with retractable holders for a TV and it can be supplied fitted. You’ll probably have to bring your own satellite dish. You could get a self-seeking or automatic dish, depending on your budget. An automatic dish scans the sky and locks onto the satellite in under 30 seconds, which is far more convenient than a manual one.
